Consultation Details
Pre-consultation
Using the pre-consult questionnaire, we will begin to explore your presenting health issues and then delve more into your medical history. In this medical history, we will cover such things as diagnosis received and medications are taken, but more importantly, we will get to know you as an individual and what you are suffering from , what your eating and sleeping habits are like your likes and dislikes, your emotional state and more of your character and personality. It is important for me as a homeopath to get to know you to tailor the treatment plan to be as unique as possible.
Initial consultation
The initial consult can take from one hour to one hour and a half and then it is my job to go away and analyse and we formulate a treatment plan for the following weeks to come. I will email you a prescription .If you are an online abroad client I also include with recommendations on where to purchase remedies, potency and dosage.
The consultation is absolutely confidential.
Following the initial consult there is a period of time where it is absolutely vital that we remain in touch via e mail and create the beginnings of the feedback patient –client relationship so I know you are taking the remedies correctly and I can answer any questions that may arise .We closely monitor your progress those first weeks.
Foll0w-up consultation
Follow up consults are usually 4 to 5 weeks apart but after time this spaces out according to the client’s needs. The consult last around 45 minutes and I will evaluate how your progress is and we will take the next steps in your treatment plan. There are always changes in the treatment plan in these first stages of treatment.
About the prescription
Some remedies may be given in a spray, ointment, or cream, but the most common form I use is pellets, however there are non-lactose based pellet also available and dilutions in alcohol from most Homeopathic pharmacies to cover all needs. A dose consists of one drop of liquid. Since the remedies are so dilute, the exact size of the dose is not of primary importance. The frequency of dosing is very important however and to follow the prescription; clients are advised not to take further doses until the first has completed its effect. There is the law of minimum dose in homeopathy-therefore one stops on improvement. If the symptoms re-occur, one repeats one more dose.
Homeopathic remedies can be kept indefinitely with proper handling. Proper handling includes storing the remedies in the original bottles and discarding them if they become contaminated by sunlight or other intense light; temperatures over 100°F (37.8°C); vapours from camphor, mothballs, or perfume.

Clients are instructed to avoid touching homeopathic medicines with their fingers. The dose can be poured onto the bottle's cap and tipped directly into the mouth. Clients should not eat or drink anything for 15–20 minutes before or after taking the dose.

Homeopathic remedies may lose their potency if used at the same time as other products. I would recommend the avoidance of mint and mentholated products (toothpastes, candies, chewing gum, mouth rinses), as well as camphor and camphorated products (including eucalyptus and Tiger Balm), strong essential oils, coffee when on an acute prescription. Also homeopathic remedies should never be placed near magnets.

Side note: Persons who are treating themselves with homeopathic remedies should follow professional guidelines regarding the limitations of home treatment. Most homeopathic home treatment guides include necessary information regarding symptoms and disorders that require professional attention.

Individual reactions to homeopathy:
Homeopathic medicines are so diluted that sometimes no trace of the original substance can be detected. These medicines are therefore considered non-toxic and generally free of harmful side effects. There may, however, be individual reactions to homeopathic medicine.

An intensified healing response may occur as treatment begins, which causes symptoms to worsen, but the phenomenon is temporary. In some patients, old symptoms may re-appear from past conditions from which recovery was not complete. Such phenomena are taken as positive indications that the healing process has commenced.
